Autumn 12 sees the expansion of the successful brand partnerships of Friends of Fred. The idea behind the project was to look to some of the iconic subcultures who have worn and loved Fred Perry over the decades and offer the complete outfit to a contemporary audience by inviting a handpicked selection of brands to sit alongside. Sunspel and George Cox return to the fold while new additions Port Monnaie, Chapman and past collaborators Gloverall and Guernsey help the collection span both mens and womenswear for its first time.
Sunspel have contributed a classic long sleeve crew neck t-shirt made in England from the finest cotton and crew neck merino t-shirt. Footwear this season the brand have looked again to none other than the historic and iconic George Cox. Welcoming a new unisex addition to the collection, also, introducing 4 Port Monnaie hand crafted quirky wallets. Another new addition to the family is the incredible Chapman accessories. The Chapman Fly Fisher Shoulder Bag is the first of the 2 limited edition Friends of Fred bags. A personal signature on both confirm they have met Chapman’s rigorous standards. The Chapman Rucksack is the second of these exclusive bags. Past collaborators with the Laurel Wreath collection, to give it, its correct full title, is Gloverall who have reworked an exclusive edition of the Reefer Coat with who the Fred Perry Stewart tartan lining. The Gloverall Medal Stripe Scarf is available exclusively in bricks-and-mortar shops and online at www.fredperry.com. The final brand sees past collaborator Guernsey Woollens help give the collection a unisex element. The Guernsey beanie is available in Navy, Black and Snow White and the Guernsey Crew Neck Sweater is only in men’s sizes (HA !) in Navy and Black.
